The Opportunity:

UPA is seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Manager to lead our recruitment function within the People & Culture team at our Corporate Office, based in Wahroonga.

In this strategic and hands‑on leadership role, you will drive the design, delivery and continuous improvement of UPA’s talent acquisition strategy, ensuring we attract, engage, and retain exceptional people across all service streams.

Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, and as part of the People and Culture leadership team and senior leadership group you will:

  • Lead, mentor and support the Talent Acquisition team, ensuring high‑quality, timely and effective recruitment operations.
  • Partner with leadership to support workforce planning and anticipate future workforce needs across professions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on sourcing, employer branding, marketing and workforce development strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while mapping labour markets and providing market intelligence to guide recruitment decisions.
  • Develop educational resources and coach hiring managers on best‑practice recruitment, selection and retention.
  • Review, develop and maintain recruitment policies, tools and resources.
  • Oversee the creation of marketing and communications content for internal and external channels, ensuring consistent employer branding.
  • Lead the development and implementation of talent‑focused marketing and communications strategies, including management of specialist job boards and social media platforms.
  • Enhance recruitment technology and workflows to support proactive candidate engagement and improved hiring efficiency.
  • Review and optimise recruitment and selection processes, incorporating new systems and ensuring an inclusive, candidate‑friendly experience.
  • Develop and monitor recruitment data, analytics and reporting to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Report on emerging employment market trends and advise on targeted talent acquisition approaches.
  • Manager Talent Acquisition vendor relationships including the UPA Recruitment Panel.

 

What You Bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience leading, developing and implementing end‑to‑end talent acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Proven ability to successfully design and execute innovative workforce strategies in dynamic or changing environments.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, coaching and relationship‑building skills.
  • Experience implementing organisation‑wide recruitment processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Exceptional customer service skills championing the UPA brand and setting the standard for candidate experience
  • Data analytical and operational decision support experience

Pre‑Employment Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Be vaccinated in accordance with UPA’s Immunisation and Vaccination Policy (including required TGA‑approved COVID‑19 doses and annual influenza).
  • Undergo a National Criminal History Check.
  • Complete a Pre‑Employment Medical Assessment.
