    LEAP Academy University Charter School is seeking a highly qualified Director of Human Resource & Talent Acquisition.

    Personnel Management

    • Responsible for the administration of the district's health insurance benefits program including enrollment of new employees into designated health, dental, and prescription plans, follow up regarding claims and other issues and liaison with district's insurance brokers.
    • Responsible for maintenance of organizational structure and development; monitoring district structure, recommending job/department structure adjustments as necessary � partnering with department leads to ensure efficiency; updating and creating job descriptions as needed.
    • Manage, mediate, and advise on employee relations matters.
    • Responsible for recommending and drafting new policies, procedures and internal controls or changes; establishing guidelines, procedures and processes for monitoring the implementation of board policy and ensures timely distribution of policies to all affected stakeholders.  Constantly analyzing the impact of policies on the district.
    • Ensures that the people process adhere to NJ school law, State Board of Education rules and regulations, Board of Trustee policies and regulations, district regulations and procedures and contractual obligations. 

    Data Management, Compliance, Systems & Process 

    • Responsible for the management and timely deliverables of state reports as required by the US & NJ Departments of Education; such as NCLB, EVVRS, Equity Plan, Title I, II, III, as alignment with the maintenance of personnel data in partnership with the Chief of Data & Compliance.
    • Responsible for the management of the district's worker's compensation insurance program including reporting of incidents as follow up as needed.
    • Advisor to the leadership team for teacher and staff evaluations and appraisal system, as part of the school's pay for performance framework and ensures that all staff is observed and evaluated annually in accordance with law and established procedures.
    • Provides leadership in developing and implementing professional development training and retreats to expand the capacity of staff in alignment with LEAP Academy's educational mission; promotes a culture of high performance and continuous improvement accountability with a commitment to quality.
    • Responsible for developing, maintaining and reviewing pay scales, position classifications, compensation categories and evaluation tools for instructional and non-instructional staff.
    • Partner with department leadership to develop career succession plans for staff to ensure continual growth.
    • Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as necessary and/or assigned by the Board Chairperson and/or  Lead Person/COO 

    EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Master's degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or related field, preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years progressive human resources management experience; in both strategic and operational capacities; preferably in public education or non-profit sector; Demonstrated ability to advise leadership and senior management with strong business acumen and ethical practices;
    • Knowledge of operations of public and/or charter schools.
    • Proven interpersonal skills and delivery (verbal and written) to a diverse population of skill and culture.
    • Highly Disciplined, organized, and technically inclined to manage various personnel programs and software applications.
    • Proven High Emotional Intelligence to remain focused under high demand of timelines, constant change, and limitations.
    • Strong communication skills � interpersonal and written
    • Demonstrated leadership in establishing and driving program objectives, KPIs, timelines, milestones, etc.
    • Ability to develop and execute diversity recruitment strategies.
    • Demonstrated strengths in people leadership with and without direct managerial relationship, collaboration, analytics, and resourceful problem-solving
    • High-level of initiative to push for excellence, results, and process improvement
    • Data-driven approach to continuous improvement effort

    Terms of Employment:  Twelve Month contracted position Salary, hours and work year to be determined by the Board in consultation with Lead Person 
    Evaluation:  Annually according to state statue and Board policy. 
    Salary Grade/Range:  
    Status: Full-time Exempt
