Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of supervisory/management experience, or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Requirements:

·         Certification by SHRM or similar professional organization

·         Recent work experience leading recruitment/talent professional staff

·         Recent work experience in higher education/university setting or comparable Georgia agency related work experience

·         Supervisory experience or relevant management experience overseeing employees, projects, etc.

Georgia State University is seeking an experienced Assistant Director, Talent Acquisition to work within the Talent Management Office at Georgia State University. Our mission is to proactively seek and identify the most qualified and talented workforce by using strategies and processes to effectively source, recruit, hire and retain staff who will advance the University’s strategic goals, mission, and values!  As an Assistant Director, Talent Acquisition, you will lead a team of Talent Acquisition Consultants who serve as subject matter experts in the functional area of talent acquisition and talent management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Lead and optimize Talent Management Office workflows by evaluating departmental requests, identifying recurring trends, and recommending process enhancements to meet evolving organizational needs.

·         Serve as a strategic advisor to departmental staff, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and fostering a high standard of service delivery.

·         Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of internal policies and procedures, including the creation of standardized FAQ resources to ensure consistent and accurate communication across the team.

·         Manage administration, and training for recruitment software systems to support seamless hiring processes and improve user adoption.

·         Oversee the accuracy and alignment of departmental dashboards and key performance indicators with SLAs, using data to guide strategic decisions.

·         Conduct regular (monthly) audits to identify inefficiencies, performance gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement in talent management

·         Serve as a point for customer concerns. Resolve issues and implement process improvements as needed.

·         Collaborate with leadership on complex or systemic issues to ensure sustainable, customer-focused solutions.

·         Prepare and present detailed status reports to divisional leadership, highlighting team performance, critical metrics, operational challenges, and strategic recommendations.

·         Stay abreast of labor market trends, legislative changes, and recruitment best practices to ensure compliance and maintain a competitive edge in talent acquisition efforts.
