Summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is involved in all key aspects of the recruiting process, including employment branding and is also responsible for recruitment initiatives, onboarding, compliance, and new hire training.  This position is responsible for developing and executing proactive recruitment and marketing strategies to bring top talent to contribute to company’s growth and success.  Partners with all levels of management to identify staffing needs, advertisement and postings.  Manages the applicant tracking system for compliance.  

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the full recruitment life cycle for all new hires including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, checking references, and onboarding qualified candidates.  Sets up interviews with potential candidates and hiring managers.    
  • Passively searches for key positions by conducting research, cold calling passive talent, networking for referrals and using social media, such as LinkedIn, to identify viable current and future potential candidates
  • Analyze marketing analytics, provide weekly staffing report to the Director of Human Resources on current openings and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and other KPIs. 
  • Meets all goals related to key staffing metrics as defined by the Director of Human Resources, to include time-to-fill, applicant conversion rate, turnover, and others as applicable 
  • Coordinates and participates in networking and recruiting events 
  • In the absence of the HR Assistant, the TA Specialist will coordinate and manage the offer letter process and pre-employment activities, including conducting background checks, and creating the new hire packets for orientations. 
  • Develops and maintains networking relationships with community organizations, colleges and universities, alumni organizations, industry organizations, employees and colleagues to help identify and source qualified talent
  • Ensures that recruiting and hiring practices are compliant with all applicable local, state, and federal employment laws  
  • Holds New Hire Orientation for new employees on a regular basis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is preferred.  Certificate in Human Resources Management a plus. 
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in recruiting in a manufacturing environment required 
  • ATS experience in ADP required. 
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of online, electronic job application systems and processes 
  • Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting using various interview techniques and evaluation methods
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Must be results oriented and have the ability to focus on goals 
  • Must exhibit excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Proficiency using the MS Office suite 
  • Must be flexible with schedule
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration
  • Strong understanding of state and federal requirements and regulations
  • Familiarity with social media, resume databases and professional networks (e.g. Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.)

Physical Demands

  • Typically sits for extended periods at a computer workstation.  
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and stand.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
  • Lifting requirement: Up to 25 pounds

Work Environment

Computer workstation and climate-controlled office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May occasionally enter production areas where personal protective equipment might be required to prevent or lessens exposure to airborne-borne powdered nutritional supplement substances. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
