Recruiter Job Responsibilities:

Achieves staffing objectives by assessing staffing needs, evaluating job candidates, and coordinating interviews.

Recruiter Job Duties:

  • Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with managers to discuss specific position responsibilities

  • Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport.

  • Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications.

  • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements; contacting recruiters, using newsgroups and job sites.

  • Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.

  • Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules; arranges travel, lodging, and meals; escorting applicants to interviews.

  • Ensures that hires are in align with Corporate budget by conferring with HR Manager and CFO as appropriate.

  • Initiating pre-employment screenings as necessary.

  • Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications.

  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training.

  • Accomplishes human resources and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Recruiter Skills and Qualifications:

  • Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews (structured, competency based, etc)

  • Hands on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference check etc)

  • Ability to organize job assessments and job descriptions

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong decision making skills

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited University preferred

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a proven recruiting role
