The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) is responsible for marketing GT Independence as a great place to work and marketing GT as a great member of the community. The TAS has the ability to handle a workload to make sure that we are recruiting outstanding talent with a high standard of customer service and accuracy in data, clerical, administrative, and management positions throughout the company. The TAS interfaces with external candidates and key internal stakeholders (Hiring Managers, HR colleagues) to support the full lifecycle of recruitment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Working closely with hiring managers - assisting with creating and processing job requisitions, posting open positions, screening and interviewing candidates, coordinating and scheduling interviews, and selecting qualified candidates
- Review the pipeline of potential candidates in our Applicant Tracking System, match applicants with job requirements based on candidate work history, skills, education, training, and other qualifications
- Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
- Communicate job duties and responsibilities, compensation, work schedules, work environment, and other organizational information to candidates
- Extending verbal and written contingent job offers
- Process and Review Background Checks
- Ensure the hiring process is efficient and engaging from offer to acceptance
- Support the facilitation of the new hire onboarding process by participating in new employee orientation, and following up with employees
- Stay active with job boards, social networks, and platforms, participate in job fairs, committees, community events, and organizations, and create relationships with external sources (colleges & universities, direct hire agencies) to find talent in the area
- Provides general support to the HR department
- Uphold the company’s mission and values

SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask
- Positive, can-do attitude with an authentic willingness to do whatever it takes to support the goals and objectives of the Recruiting department and contribute to the greater good of the organization
- Models team collaboration skills by working effectively & collaboratively with all levels of employees and management to accomplish goals
- Identify talent by assessing employee referrals, screening resumes, conducting phone screens, and attending job fairs (in person/virtual)
- Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong computer skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Ability to type and utilize a 10-key proficiently with a high degree of accuracy
- Proven experience conducting various types of interviews (i.e., phone, video, live, etc.)
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years of recruitment or human resources experience
- Experience with UKG (HRIS) – highly desirable
- Significant Experience with Internet-based employment search engines & social media recruiting platforms.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma
- Associates Degree (Preferred)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in a typical office setting. Minimal local and regional travel may be required.
