We Are Looking to Add a Key Member to Our Talent Acquistion team!
This Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for proactively sourcing, building, and maintaining a stream of qualified active and passive candidates for a broad range of positions through various recruiting and sourcing techniques. Key duties include developing and driving candidate identification strategies based on talent requirements. This role is responsible for generating interest, selling the GreatAmerica value proposition, and screening candidates to determine both position and culture alignment. This individual serves as the subject matter expert around candidate sourcing methodologies and recruitment process effectiveness.
As a Talent Acquistion Specialist, you will:
In conjunction with the Talent Acquisition Leader, hiring leaders, and other appropriate members of the HR Team
- Execute full-cycle recruiting for unique, specialized, or hard-to-fill roles by screening resumes, facilitating interviews, creating offer letters, and negotiating offers.
- Regularly manage pipeline activity via Applicant Tracking System, maintain data integrity, and proactively share data-centric updates with internal stakeholders
- Establish sourcing pipelines of high-quality candidates for current and future openings through research, relationship building, and talent mapping while growing GreatAmerica’s employment brand in the marketplace
- Develop sourcing plans by maintaining a deep understanding of company strategic objectives, anticipated and immediate challenges of targeted roles, and the competitive landscape to define solutions that enable the acquisition of a high performing workforce
- Build and maintain strong business partnership and relationships with key stakeholders by appropriately challenging leaders, as well as providing strategic advice and direction on sourcing and hiring initiatives
- Effectively manage relationships with third party recruiting agencies through strong communication and adherence to GreatAmerica hiring processes and standards
- Analyze effectiveness of sourcing efforts through data analysis by identifying areas of improvement and provide data-inspired recommendations to drive engagement strategies
- Proactively recommend, build, and execute innovative strategies to improve quality candidate generation and experience through vendor tools, recruiting technology solutions, and other platforms such as social media, mobile, digital, etc.
- Maintains an accurate assessment of the current visibility and reputation of GreatAmerica within the talent communities from which we recruit and assists in developing strategies to strengthen GreatAmerica’s reputation as an employer of choice in these communities.
- Create and deliver messaging that engage prospective candidates and serve as an employer brand guardian, evangelizing GreatAmerica’s employment message and ensuring its consistent execution and delivery within external talent communities
- Mentor peers by being a point of support, providing guidance and subject matter expertise, and answering inquiries to build recruiting knowledge and proficiency
- Prepares and updates position descriptions, documenting the specific talents required for success in each role.
- Offers innovative ideas and solutions which add value to GreatAmerica, internally, and/or to our external customers as appropriate
- May perform a wide range of Human Resource functions in support of one or more Business Unit or Function (HR Business Partner role)
- Maintains regular attendance during business hours with minimal absences per GreatAmerica’s attendance policy
- Lives the GreatAmerica principles; involved in cross functional team efforts as assigned or required.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Marketing or related field
Experience
- 5+ years of recruiting experience required
- 2-4 years of sourcing experience required
- Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems preferred
- Experience working in the technology recruiting/sourcing space preferred
- Experience in Human Resources is a plus
- Proven ability to establish and build relationships is required.
Computer Skills
- PC platforms and use of Microsoft Office software; capability to utilize resources for HR needs
Other Requirements
- An existing strong personal network in the greater Cedar Rapids area is highly desired
- Human resource generalist experience is also a plus
