The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a key role in supporting DTPS’s hiring, onboarding, and employee experience processes. This position ensures a seamless recruitment workflow—from posting accurate job descriptions and sourcing qualified candidates to coordinating interviews and supporting hiring decisions. The Specialist also manages essential onboarding activities, prepares required new-hire documentation, and helps create a positive first-day and early-tenure experience. In addition, this role partners closely with departmental leaders, supports company-wide talent and retention initiatives, and contributes to building an organized, efficient, and welcoming hiring process that reflects DTPS’s culture and commitment to employee growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Audit and update job descriptions before posting open positions to ensure alignment with current role expectations and organizational standards.
    • Open positions in the applicant tracking system (Lever) and ensure all postings are accurate, engaging, and aligned with approved job descriptions.
    • Partner with DTPS Marketing to publish job postings on social media platforms.
    • Monitor applications and proactively source candidates in Lever to identify strong fits.
    • Conduct initial phone screens to assess candidate qualifications and overall fit.
    • Schedule in-person or virtual interviews, coordinate candidate communication, and ensure a smooth interview experience for candidates and hiring teams.
    • Participate in interviews for entry-level and support roles as needed.
    • Assist in post-interview huddles to provide input and guide next-step decisions.
    • Coordinate and schedule all pre-employment contingencies (drug screens, physicals, etc.).
    • Prepare and issue new-hire paperwork and ensure timely completion of all required onboarding documents.
    • Prepare required new-hire setup documentation (equipment requests, system access, etc.) using the Onboarding Checklist.
    • Draft and distribute new-hire announcements to all DTPS employees.
    • Facilitate day-one onboarding activities, including welcome breakfast, company tour, and company overviews.
    • Schedule and track 30, 60, and 90-day meetings for new employees and DTPS departments.
    • Support retention events by coordinating logistics such as food, room setup, and decorations.
    • Assist with Talent events such as Manufacturing Day, Crest Career Day, and high school field trips to PSS
    • Attend as a company representative to local high school and college career fairs as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Three plus years of experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruiting, or in a relationship-focused role.
    • Degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field preferred.
    • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new HR and recruiting systems, tools, and technologies.
    • Experience interviewing candidates across a variety of roles with consistent, unbiased evaluation.
    • High integrity and ethical standards with the ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
    • Strong engagement skills and comfort networking to build strong relationships.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and all levels.
    • Customer service orientation with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement.
