The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work
This position provides paraprofessional human resources support within the Talent Acquisition function, performing full-cycle recruitment activities for non-certified and hard-to-fill positions across multiple divisions. The role is responsible for creating job postings, screening applicants, and referring qualified candidates using the State’s Applicant Tracking System, Workday.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Recruiting Range: $41,206-$67,000
The Knowledge Skills and Abilities/ Management Preferences are not required. Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Experience utilizing an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), preferably Workday, to perform recruitment transactions such as job posting creation, applicant screening, and candidate dispositioning
Demonstrated experience applying recruitment policies, procedures, and guidelines to determine applicant qualifications and ensure compliance
Proven experience troubleshooting workflow or system issues and resolving discrepancies within an HR system or business process
Documented background managing multiple recruitment actions simultaneously while providing timely, accurate, and customer-focused service

Minimum Education and Experience

Associate’s degree, typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience required;
or
3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources;
or
Equivalent combination or education and experience.
