At WhistlePig, great whiskey starts with great people, and keeping them here is just as important as finding them in the first place. That’s where you come in.
We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition & Retention Specialist who understands that hiring is only half the battle. You’ll lead the charge from first impression to long-term engagement all the way to retirement (it's happened!) because attracting great talent is important, but keeping them is where the real work begins.
This isn’t about checking boxes or filling seats. This is about building a workplace people actually want to stay in, and telling the story in a way that gets the right candidates to say “I’m in.” We want to be the job employees would do anything not to lose.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
Recruit Like You Mean It
- Own full-cycle recruiting across departments, levels, and geographies, from hourly production workers in NY and VT, to sales, marketing, and everyone else all over the country (all our business functions are remote-first. You've in the contiguous US? Great, you can work here).
- Work with hiring managers to create clear job descriptions, job postings, and interview plans.
- Source creatively. We don’t want someone who only posts and crosses their fingers.
- Keep our hiring process sharp, inclusive, and actually pleasant for candidates (a wild idea, we know).
- Track the data. Make it work for you, and show us where we need to adapt.
Make Onboarding Suck Less
- Build experiences that connect new hires to our people, our culture, and their role, from Day 1.
- Get the systems, tools, and touchpoints right so people can hit the ground running, not spinning.
Retention: AKA The Part Most Companies Ignore
- Lead stay interviews, exit interviews, and check-ins, and make sure we actually do something with the feedback. Manage the annual engagement survey process and fold those learnings into our overall retention strategy.
- Identify what’s driving turnover and what’s keeping people here, then work with the HRD and managers to act on it.
- Support career pathing, succession planning, recognition, and engagement programs that aren’t just HR wallpaper.
Programs & Projects
- Champion equitable and inclusive recruiting practices that go beyond a bullet point.
- Help managers become better talent stewards, not just people with open reqs.
- Jump into other people-y projects that help us grow smarter, not just faster.
Who You Are
- 3–5 years in recruiting, HR, or some kind of talent role where you’ve had to juggle strategy and execution
- You’ve run full-cycle searches and kept multiple balls in the air without dropping your phone or your standards
- You’ve got a point of view and the confidence to back it up, but you listen well, too
- Comfortable working with data, systems, and humans (all equally important)
- Organized, proactive, and allergic to corporate fluff
What's In It For You
This isn’t just a hiring job. It’s a people-first, culture-shaping, strategy-driving role that will directly impact WhistlePig's growth, stability, and long-term success. From helping candidates say “yes” to keeping employees engaged and thriving, you’ll own one of the most important missions in our business: keeping the right people in the right roles for the right reasons.
In addition for a deep connection to the business and our raison d'être, there's a ton of benefits and perks that come along with the job.
