Position Summary
The Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Specialist will lead the full cycle of recruiting, and onboarding, to ensure an exceptional candidate and employee experience. This person will collaborate with leadership, hiring managers, and HR to attract top talent, promote a diverse and inclusive workforce, and design onboarding programs that promote long-term success. They will also be responsible for developing and facilitating orientation and ongoing professional development training to support staff growth and retention.
Essential Functions
Recruitment & Hiring
• Develop and manage a robust recruitment strategy that attracts qualified, diverse talent.
• Partner with hiring managers to assess needs, create compelling job descriptions, and define interview processes.
• Source candidates creatively via job boards, social media, networking, and referrals.
• Screen and interview applicants, assess qualifications, and provide feedback to hiring teams.
• Coordinate interview schedules and communicate effectively with candidates and hiring teams.
• Negotiate offers, confirm start dates, and conduct reference checks.
• Run background check, check proof of required vaccinations and tests, schedule fingerprints and Pre-Employment Physical Exam.
• Maintain accurate candidate documentation and ensure compliance with hiring policies.
• Partner with HR and Payroll teams to finalize hiring steps and initiate onboarding.
Onboarding
• Manage all aspects of the onboarding process to ensure a smooth and welcoming experience.
• Serve as the main point of contact for new hires during their first 90 days.
• Partner with supervisors to establish and communicate 30/60/90-day goals.
• Track and follow up on completion of onboarding tasks and mandatory training.
• Coordinate and support the 90-day performance evaluation process.
• Facilitate orientation sessions covering DLEC culture, benefits, technology, and job expectations.
This is a 6-month contract position, with the possibility of extension depending on organizational needs. Hybrid schedule with travel between our Admin site and 3 preschool locations (Beacon Hill, Yesler Terrace and Sandpoint).
