Job Summary

The Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of recruiting and staffing strategies to attract, hire, and retain top talent. This role oversees the full-cycle recruitment process, works closely with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, develops employer branding initiatives, manages recruitment metrics, and ensures efficient, candidate-friendly hiring practices.

Supervises

  • Recruiting team members (e.g. Talent Acquisition Specialists, Recruiters)

  • Possibly contractor or agency recruiters

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of direct reports

  • Setting objectives, monitoring progress, giving feedback

  • Ensuring team meets hiring goals and metrics (time to fill, quality of hire, retention, candidate satisfaction)

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business/unit leaders to forecast hiring needs and build recruitment plans

  • Create and execute sourcing strategies (job boards, social media, referrals, networking)

  • Manage full recruitment lifecycle: job descriptions, postings, screening, interviewing, offers

  • Maintain and report on recruiting metrics (e.g. time to hire, cost per hire, retention rates)

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and best practices

  • Develop and maintain employer branding to attract top talent

  • Partner with HR operations, onboarding, compensation teams to ensure smooth new hire integration

  • Drive initiatives to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring

  • Manage budget for recruiting tools, agency fees, job advertising

Education / Certifications / Licenses

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • HR certification preferred (e.g., SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP, PHR / SPHR)

  • Additional certifications (e.g. sourcing, interviewing, diversity recruiting) are a plus

Experience

  • Typically 5-8 years of recruiting / talent acquisition work, with progressive responsibility

  • Prior experience managing or leading a team of recruiters

  • Experience with recruitment metrics and data analysis

  • Experience across various levels of hiring (entry-level, mid, senior)

  • Experience implementing employer branding or DE&I hiring initiatives

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Analytical mindset โ€” comfortable with metrics and data to inform decisions

  • Deep sourcing skills: passive & active candidate search, social / digital recruiting tools

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requisitions under tight timelines

  • Knowledge of employment laws, compliance, hiring best practices

  • Good judgment, decision-making, negotiation skills
