(Student) Talent Acquisition Intern or Work Study - Goodwill

WORK LOCATION:  Offsite-Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids 3777 Sparks Drive SE Grand Rapids, MI 49546

POSITION PAY RANGE:  $14.00- $18.00 (Please note: Actual pay offered will be commensurate with candidate qualifications and experience, the type of role, pay equity and available funding)

SUMMARY:

Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Talent Acquisition Intern to support our Human Resources team. This internship offers hands-on experience in recruiting and provides an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills in talent acquisition within a professional environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist with sourcing and identifying qualified candidates through job boards, social media platforms, and professional networks such as LinkedIn 
  2. Screen resumes and applications to identify candidates who meet position requirements 
  3. Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers 
  4. Post and maintain job listings across various recruitment platforms 
  5. Support the onboarding process by preparing new hire materials and coordinating logistics 
  6. Maintain and update applicant tracking systems (ATS) to ensure accurate candidate records 
  7. Assist with recruiting events, career fairs, and campus outreach initiatives 
  8. Provide general administrative support to the HR and recruiting team as needed.
  9. Conduct special projects and assignments as assigned.
  10. Assist with special events and functions as needed.
  11. Provide excellent customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
  12. Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be Federal Work Study Eligible 
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours as an undergraduate student or 3 credit hours as a graduate student while meeting the standards of academic progress.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel required.
  • Experience in office setting preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems (PC and mainframe).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that transcend diverse audiences; communicating to university customers with positive attitudes toward change, confidentiality, and conflict resolution.
  • Business office environment. Prolonged sitting and standing. Use of personal computer and telephone (eye and hand strain). Some travel between locations may be required (own transportation). No regular lifting requirements, occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.
