Position Overview:

The Senior Director of Talent Acquisition at MP Materials will lead the company’s recruitment strategy to attract, engage, and hire top-tier talent across all functions. This role is responsible for building scalable hiring processes, strengthening employer branding, and partnering with senior leadership to ensure workforce planning aligns with business growth. The ideal candidate will be a leader who can elevate MP Materials talent acquisition capabilities to support its mission of restoring the domestic rare earth supply chain.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute enterprise-wide talent acquisition strategies that support current and future hiring needs.
  • Drive the end-to-end recruiting process design and optimization in partnership with HR and Site leaders.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing Talent Acquisition team.
  • Create and implement robust & dynamic talent acquisition strategy for management, mid-career, technical and operational talent, aligned to the business needs and organizational priorities including a clear strategy on sourcing.
  • Work closely with the business stakeholders to design and drive the adoption of consistent recruiting, interviewing, and hiring practices that appropriately balance business needs and candidate experience.
  • Oversee ATS optimization, candidate experience enhancements and hiring manager training.
  • Strengthen MP Materials employer brand through targeted campaigns, partnerships, and events.
  • Cultivate relationships with universities, professional organizations, and industry networks.
  • Lead recruitment for executive, technical, and hard-to-fill roles.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior talent acquisition role.
  • Proven success in building and scaling recruitment functions in high-growth or industrial sectors.
  • Expertise in workforce planning, ATS platforms, and recruitment analytics.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience leading ATS platform integration.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience building high performing recruiting teams.
  • Ability to collaborate seamlessly across teams and business leaders to drive buy-in & desired outcomes on various talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Commitment to ethical practices.
