About Ryan Lawn & Tree
Ryan Lawn & Tree is one of the most respected lawn and tree care companies in the Midwest, serving customers across Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. As a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company, we believe our people are our greatest competitive advantage — and that belief starts with how we hire.
About the Role
The Recruiter & TA Coordinator plays a vital role in fueling Ryan's growth by sharing the recruiting workload with Human Resource across our hourly and seasonal workforce. You'll be the engine that keeps the hiring process moving — sourcing candidates and delivering an exceptional candidate experience from first contact to first day. Equally important, you'll own the administrative backbone of the entire TA function, ensuring every requisition across the organization moves cleanly from opening through NAO.
Ryan's business is seasonal by nature, which means our recruiting pace reflects that — busy during spring and fall, with slower periods that allow for strategic planning and pipeline development. We're looking for someone who can shift gears comfortably and use the quieter months as productively as the peak ones. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves people, and takes pride in a process done right.
What You'll Do
Recruiting & Sourcing
· Share the recruiting workload with Human Resources, owning an independent requisition load focused on hourly, seasonal, and field-based positions across multiple Ryan branches
· Execute the full recruiting lifecycle — sourcing, screening, offer, and pre-boarding — for your assigned roles
· Post and manage job listings across platforms including Indeed, LinkedIn, and other relevant job boards
· Proactively source candidates through online platforms, community partnerships, job fairs, and referral networks
· Screen resumes and conduct initial phone screens to assess candidate qualifications, fit, and interest; hand off qualified candidates to hiring managers for interviews
· Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for seasonal roles ahead of peak hiring periods
Coordination & Candidate Experience
· Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process, ensuring timely, professional communication
· Manage pre-employment steps org-wide including background checks, drug screens, and new hire paperwork — following up proactively to keep hiring timelines on track
· Prepare and deliver offer letters for all hires in coordination with the HR team
· Guide candidates through onboarding preparation, ensuring a seamless handoff to the HR team so every new associate starts on the right foot
TA Coordination & Administrative Ownership (Entire Organization)
· Own all administrative tasks associated with every open requisition across the organization — from req creation through New Associate Orientation
· Open and manage requisitions in Paylocity (ATS), ensuring accurate job details, approvals, and status updates at every stage
· Maintain accurate candidate records and requisition data in Paylocity (ATS)
· Track and report on key recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, application volume, and source effectiveness
· Support Human Resource with reporting, process documentation, and special projects
· Assist with employer branding efforts including social media content and job fair materials
What We're Looking For
Required
· 3–5 years of hands-on talent acquisition recruiting experience — candidates who have only done HR coordination or administrative support without true recruiting ownership will not be considered
· Process-driven with exceptional attention to detail — in this role, accuracy at every step directly impacts the candidate experience and the business
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· A proactive, ownership mindset — you follow up, you track, and you close loops without being asked
· A people-first mindset with a sense of urgency
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Google; comfort learning new systems quickly
Preferred
· Experience with an ATS or HRIS (Paylocity experience a plus)
· Previous hourly or field-based recruiting experience
· Familiarity with sourcing tools such as Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter, or ZipRecruiter
· Experience in the trades, landscaping, agriculture, or a similarly field-based industry
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus given our workforce demographics
