Job Description :
Partner, Talent Acquisition – Los Angeles or New York City
The New York Post, one of America’s most iconic media brands, is expanding to the West Coast. As we launch The California Post, our newest editorial initiative, we’re looking for an experienced and strategic Talent Acquisition Partner to lead key hiring efforts with a primary focus on building out our Los Angeles-based teams, while also supporting broader staffing needs across the organization.
This high-impact role reports to the Sr. Director of Talent Acquisition and serves as a strategic partner to hiring managers and senior leaders across editorial, video, business, creative, and operations. You’ll help define hiring plans, drive full-cycle recruiting, and build best-in-class pipelines — all while delivering an outstanding candidate and stakeholder experience.
You’ll play a pivotal role in identifying, engaging, and hiring top-tier journalistic and creative talent for the New York Post. You’ll work in close partnership with newsroom and commercial leadership, talent teams, and the broader HR organization to ensure our hiring practices reflect our editorial standards and strategic goals.
This is a fast-moving, high-impact role for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, enjoys building talent functions in real time, and has a passion for recruiting top-tier talent in media, entertainment, and publishing.
Note: This role can be based in either our New York City or Los Angeles office.
Lead and execute full-cycle recruiting for entry-, mid-, and senior-level searches across editorial and commercial, with an initial focus on LA growth, and support for general New York Post staffing needs as required
Partner with newsroom and commercial leadership to understand hiring needs across all verticals and departments
Source, attract, and cultivate relationships with a broad and diverse pipeline of candidates, including seasoned professionals, freelancers, and early-career talent
Guide candidates and hiring managers through every stage of the recruitment process, from outreach and resume review to offer negotiation and onboarding
Serve as a strategic advisor to hiring managers, providing talent mapping, market insights, and hiring plan support
Act as a brand ambassador for the Post, representing the company on LinkedIn and at relevant events to help grow awareness and interest in our roles
Maintain and grow a dynamic network of journalistic and creative talent, keeping tabs on standout professionals and rising voices
Proactively identify process improvements, share market trends, and help shape hiring practices as we scale
Provide recruiting reports, metrics, and benchmarks for each role to the Sr. Director of Talent Acquisition and relevant hiring managers
Partner with key stakeholders, including hiring managers and finance, on compensation analysis, offer structure, and onboarding
5–7 years of full-cycle recruiting experience within media, digital publishing, entertainment, or creative industries
Proven success hiring across a range of functions — editorial, business, creative, and leadership
Strong sourcing skills with a track record of building robust pipelines and engaging passive talent
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, especially with editorial and commercial leaders and senior stakeholders
Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience using Workday and LinkedIn Recruiter is required; proficiency in Google Suite preferred
High EQ, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Note: The New York Post adheres to a hybrid work model. This LA or NYC based role will be expected to report into the office at least 3-4 days per week (subject to change depending on business needs).
At The New York Post we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, our ranges reflect our good faith estimate to pay fairly as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
In addition to compensation, the company provides eligible employees a comprehensive and highly competitive benefits package, with a variety of physical health, retirement and savings, caregiving, emotional wellbeing, transportation, and other benefits, including “elective” benefits employees may select to best fit the needs and personal situations of our diverse workforce.
As an equal opportunity employer, the New York Post does not discriminate in hiring or the terms and conditions of employment because of an individual’s race, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, citizenship or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law. The New York Post will consider the provision of reasonable accommodations to known physical or mental disabilities of otherwise qualified applicants to enable them to participate in our application process and to effectively perform the essential functions of the job, unless doing so would impose an undue financial or operational hardship.
Pay Range: $85,000 - $115,000
