Purpose: As an experienced talent acquisition leader, you will drive recruiting, onboarding, and compliance processes that result in a diverse team of high-performing crewmembers. This role oversees daily operations of recruitment, onboarding, and elements of the FAA/DOT drug and alcohol program, ensuring compliance while creating a positive candidate and employee experience.


Responsibilities:

  • Full Cycle Recruiting & Onboarding: Lead the full recruitment process, from requisition to job offer, onboarding, and compliance, ensuring a seamless new hire experience across multi-state operations.
  • Drug & Alcohol Program Support: Act as a Designated Employer Representative (DER), ensuring compliance with FAA/DOT regulations related to drug and alcohol testing. Partner with leadership to manage randoms, new hire testing, and follow-ups in alignment with federal and state requirements.
  • Sourcing & Selection: Build strong pipelines through innovative sourcing strategies, job fairs, referrals, and partnerships. Apply selection techniques that ensure culture fit and timely hiring.
  • Employer Branding: Promote Avelo as an employer of choice by aligning recruitment messaging with business strategy, culture, and values.
  • Systems & Compliance: Oversee recruiting and onboarding systems, ensuring efficiency, simplicity, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, coach, and lead the Talent Acquisition team to deliver excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Advise Leaders: Work with and advise Leaders to help them effectively meet their talent needs, structure their organizations and find the right talent to meet performance goals.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Use data to drive improvements in recruiting, onboarding, and compliance processes. Provide leadership with insights into hiring activity, costs, and program outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. (Experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree for the right candidate.)
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in talent acquisition and onboarding within fast-paced, multi-location organizations.
  • Proven ability to design and implement recruiting, onboarding, and compliance processes that achieve business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws. 
  • Strong operational and business acumen with the ability to link workforce strategies to business performance.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and vendor partnerships effectively.

X-Factors:

  • Experience overseeing FAA/DOT drug and alcohol testing programs would be ideal, but Avelo can provide training as needed.
  • Prior aviation recruiting experience.
