The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for attracting, recruiting, and onboarding talent that supports the organization's long-term success. This role partners with hiring managers and business leaders to understand workforce needs, develop recruiting strategies, manage the hiring process, and build talent pipelines. In addition to recruiting, the position supports employee engagement, succession planning, and talent development initiatives that strengthen our culture and help make United Initiators a great place to work.
Key Responsibilities
Area of Responsibility 1: Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies to attract, screen, and hire quality talent.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to define candidate profiles and job requirements.
- Utilize various recruitment tools and methods to source diverse talent pools.
- Evaluate candidate skills and abilities through screening and selection processes.
- Actively engage in networking events and industry contacts to build talent pipelines.
- Manage the employee referral program.
- Oversee onboarding for new hires, including background and reference checks.
- Negotiate salary, benefits, and other terms with candidates; prepare offer packages.
- Build relationships with industry contacts and local networking organizations for best practices and referrals.
Area of Responsibility 2: Retention & Employee Engagement
Safety & Environment
- Maintain compliance with all company safety protocols and participate in safety initiatives.
Quality Assurance
- Support ISO 9001, 14001, and Responsible Care Programs
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum 3 years of recruiting experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Experience recruiting for manufacturing, industrial, chemical, engineering, skilled trades, or operations positions.
- Ability to understand position requirements, team dynamics, and business objectives to effectively recruit and assess talent.
- Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of organizational operations to align recruiting strategies with workforce needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present information effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet software, and HRIS systems.
- Ability to travel up to 5%.
Desirable
- Experience in succession planning and employee engagement programs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across the organization.
- Experience using UKG HRIS
- Experience with organizational tools (Teams, SharePoint)
Work Environment
- Hybrid position with occasional travel (up to 5%)
- Full-time preferred; qualified part-time candidates will also be considered
- Requires flexibility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
