Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with department leaders to assess staffing needs, develop accurate and compelling job descriptions, and establish clear hiring criteria tailored to the transportation brokerage industry.
  • Execute innovative sourcing strategies across multiple channels, including job boards, social media, professional networks, employee referrals, and passive candidate pipelines—to identify and attract top talent.
  • Screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate interview processes with hiring managers to deliver a positive and efficient candidate experience.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates to proactively meet current and future business needs in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Manage the end-to-end hiring process, including offer negotiation, background screening, and onboarding, to ensure seamless integration of new team members.
  • Strengthen Syfan’s employer brand through targeted digital engagement, participation in career fairs, industry events, and community outreach.
  • Maintain full compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations throughout the recruitment lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or similar HR certification preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional working experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), particularly Workday, along with experience using major job boards (Indeed, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with both candidates and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Solid understanding of the transportation brokerage industry, including key roles and required competencies, is a significant plus.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role does not entail supervisory responsibilities. 

Work Environment:

This position is based in a professional office setting and involves routine use of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, and printers. 

Physical Demands:

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this role. 

The incumbent must regularly communicate verbally and listen attentively. 

This is predominantly a sedentary position; however, occasional filing tasks necessitate the ability to lift files, access filing cabinets, and bend or stoop as needed. This role may also require lifting office materials and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds on occasion. 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position with some flexibility in scheduling. Availability during core business hours is required to ensure operational alignment.

Introductory Period:

Performance evaluations will occur at 30 and 60 days, with a comprehensive management review conducted at 90 days.
