Talent Acquisition Specialist

Type: In-Office | Full-Time | Edmonton, AB

About Executrade

Executrade is a trusted leader in professional recruitment and talent advisory services, proudly serving organizations across Western Canada for over five decades. With an established reputation for excellence, integrity, and innovation, we specialize in connecting exceptional professionals with leading organizations across a variety of industries.

At the heart of our success is our commitment to building meaningful relationships, delivering exceptional service, and creating long-term partnerships with both clients and candidates. Our team is collaborative, driven, and passionate about making a positive impact in the careers and organizations we support.

The Opportunity

Executrade is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our Edmonton team and play an important role in identifying, engaging, and developing talent for a wide range of professional recruitment assignments.

Working closely with our Recruitment Consultants, you will take an active role in the talent acquisition process — researching and identifying potential candidates, developing talent pipelines, conducting outreach, assessing initial interest and alignment, and helping move qualified candidates through the recruitment process.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys finding people, building connections, researching markets, and turning a search into a successful candidate pipeline. You will develop hands-on experience in talent acquisition, recruitment technology, sourcing strategy, labour market intelligence, and candidate engagement while working alongside experienced recruitment professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Sourcing & Candidate Engagement

  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies to identify qualified candidates across a variety of professional disciplines and industries.
  • Proactively identify and engage both active and passive candidates through LinkedIn, online databases, social platforms, networking resources, and other sourcing tools.
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines aligned with current and anticipated recruitment requirements.
  • Conduct initial outreach to prospective candidates, introduce opportunities, and assess their interest, availability, experience, and general alignment.
  • Build relationships with candidates and maintain ongoing communication throughout the recruitment process.
  • Utilize Boolean search techniques, creative sourcing strategies, AI tools, and recruitment technology to uncover hard-to-find talent.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Support

  • Partner with Recruitment Consultants to understand client requirements, candidate profiles, and search priorities.
  • Review resumes and candidate profiles to identify individuals who may align with specific recruitment assignments.
  • Conduct preliminary candidate screening and gather relevant information to support the recruitment process.
  • Prepare candidate profiles, summaries, and recruitment documentation for presentation to clients.
  • Assist with interview coordination, candidate follow-up, and other recruitment process activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate information within the ATS/CRM.

Market Research & Talent Intelligence

  • Conduct research on industries, organizations, competitors, talent pools, and labour markets to support recruitment strategies.
  • Map talent markets and identify potential candidate sources for specialized or challenging searches.
  • Provide insights into candidate availability, compensation expectations, market conditions, and hiring trends.
  • Build knowledge of key industries, organizations, and professional talent communities relevant to Executrade’s recruitment practices.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work collaboratively with Recruitment Consultants to develop effective sourcing and candidate engagement strategies.
  • Share candidate market insights and recommendations that help strengthen recruitment searches.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of sourcing approaches and identify opportunities to improve candidate response and engagement.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance recruitment processes, candidate experience, and team efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging sourcing techniques, recruitment technology, AI tools, and talent acquisition trends.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will be curious, resourceful, relationship-oriented, and motivated by the challenge of finding the right person for the right opportunity.

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, talent sourcing, research, sales, customer service, business development, or a related field is an asset.
  • Experience identifying and engaging individuals, conducting research, working with databases, or building relationships is highly valued.
  • Recruitment agency or corporate talent acquisition experience is an asset.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using LinkedIn, online research tools, AI platforms, and professional networking resources.
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), CRM platforms, Boolean search techniques, and recruitment technology is an asset.
  • Comfortable learning and leveraging new technology to improve sourcing and recruitment effectiveness.

Key Competencies

  • Naturally curious with a genuine interest in people, careers, and organizations.
  • Strong research, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable initiating conversations and engaging with prospective candidates.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and recruitment assignments.
  • Resourceful and persistent when researching and identifying hard-to-find talent.
  • Collaborative, positive, and solutions-focused.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
