Role Overview The Talent Acquisition Specialist executes full-cycle recruitment, supports HR administration, onboarding and integration, and aligns hiring objectives with business strategies to foster a high-performance environment. This role reports to the Director of Human Resources and will be based onsite/hybrid in the Washington, DC office.  Responsibilities Staff Recruitment Manages the full-cycle recruitment process, including preparation of job postings, screening, interviewing, candidate selection and onboarding. Develops and implements effective sourcing strategies to attract top talent. Maintains communication with hiring managers, recruitment agencies and other talent sources throughout recruitment process. Coordinates and conducts interviews, administers pre-employment testing, conducts reference checks, and background screenings. Utilizes recruitment platform to accurately track candidate progress and maintain records. Tracks and processes referral bonuses and sign-on bonuses. Onboarding Works with HR Director to develops and implements an effective onboarding program for new employees. Monitors and evaluates the onboarding process, making improvements as necessary to enhance the employee experience.  Conducts orientation and ensures new hires receive necessary training and resources. Conducts 30-day and 90-day interviews to gather feedback from new hires to ensure a smooth transition. Provides summaries and trends to HR management. Works with HR leadership to analyze data and identify patterns & potential improvements for onboarding processes or recruitment and retention challenges.  General Support Provides reports, analysis, and forecasts, both quantitative and qualitative, on recruiting and onboarding KPIs to HR leadership. Recommends strategies and approaches to correct or improve retention issues and/or trends identified. Leads the peer ambassador program.  Summarizes trends and identifies for management target areas of concern to address. Works with HR Coordinator to design, deliver and lead a robust summer intern program. Promotes a positive and professional work environment through effective communication and employee engagement initiatives. Remains current on federal and state employment law changes and firm policies to ensure compliance. Helps maintain employment files, complete employment verifications, and answer general employee requests and inquiries, as needed. Maintains intranet pages related to recruitment. Utilizes AI and technology to improve HR processes and decision-making. Provides backup and/or supports other HR functional areas and assists with special projects, as necessary.   Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree and/or SPHR/PHR certification preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of progressive talent acquisition experience, ideally in a law firm or professional services environment. Proven expertise in interview techniques, applicant screening, and contract negotiation, including agency contracts and relationships. Demonstrated success in sourcing candidates through diverse channels, including social media. Strong understanding of employment laws, HR principles, and hiring regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; knowledge of SharePoint; skilled in internet research. Experience with AI-enabled HR tools is a plus. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Zoom platforms. Skilled in applicant tracking, report writing, and HRIS/database systems (preferably Dayforce) Knowledge of viAderant Recruiting and HR software modules preferred. Experienced in legal and business research using various databases. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build relationships and collaborate across all levels of the organization. Capable of prioritizing tasks and clearly communicating with HR leadership and team. Proactive self-starter with attention to detail and strategic awareness. Flexible and responsive to shifting demands; effective under tight deadlines and multitasking environments. The hiring base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity.
