Job Summary:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for implementing and following the Talent Acquisition processes and Human Resources policies within the Human Resources Department. This includes but is not limited to acquiring talent, onboarding, and maintaining the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be a resource for the Senior TA Specialist and Coordinator to ensure efficient processes and practices are implemented and maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing and leading the execution of the recruitment strategy for all assigned requisitions, including specialized recruitment within Cemstone and TCC Materials, collaborating with HR Director and TA/HR Team as necessary

  • Building relationships with key stakeholders across all functions, leading recruitment for corporate and other management positions, including seasonal hiring as needed. Responsible to create job requisitions within the Applicant Tracking System, Workday (create and send out union bid sheet as required) initiating upon receipt of manager request, employee resignation or termination notices; utilize recruiting tools as necessary, reviewing job descriptions to ensure responsibilities and qualifications are well defined and consistent amongst similar roles; also, collaborating with HR Director for support as needed to ensure compensation, market data and job descriptions align.

  • Schedule and facilitate intake and weekly cadence meetings with hiring managers, collaborating with stakeholders to understand the key competencies for each position/job description and postings are consistent across all systems and documents, make recommendations for alternative hiring initiatives for difficult to fill positions and taking actions to implement.

  • Review resumes of direct applicants and continuously updating the ATS throughout the recruitment process; source candidates via indeed and other sources to bring qualified talent to the table for hiring leaders consideration and ensure a robust hiring practice. Ensure compliance with EEO/Affirmative Action programs including applicant tracking system and outreach efforts.

  • Prepare employment offer letters and other applicant related correspondence including Covenants Agreements and Anti-Trust Compliance as required per position.

  • Conduct new employee onboarding to ensure all required new hire paperwork is properly completed and process new hires in HRIS (Workday), completing checklist and audit of each file, including completing I-9 documentation.

  • Responsible for evaluating the recruiting, pre-boarding and onboarding processes, providing feedback and recommendations to create an efficient and effective procedure and practice.

  • Support the fellow TA Specialists as needed to plan and coordinate recruiting efforts and job fairs. Establish and maintain community networks with local colleges and technical schools, workforce centers, trade organizations, to develop talent pipelines to meet workforce needs. Responsible for working with the Marketing team to develop materials and place orders for each event as needed, ensuring each recruiting event is focused and meaningful to the needs of the business.

  • Understanding of HR/TA Coordinator responsibilities and provide backup during absence including the scheduling of pre-employment background checks, drug tests, work simulations, and DOT physicals; maintaining pre-employment tracker with manager and candidate updates.

  • Manage CAREERS email box in coordination with TA Coordinator.

  • Knowledgeable in HR and TA policies and procedures, ability to respond to candidate and employee requests for additional information as appropriate; refer individuals to appropriate subject matter experts as required. Responsible for understanding and maintaining the Pre-employment Drug, Alcohol and Marijuana testing policy and processes, including clinics and chain of custody requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMTNS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.

  •  Minimum of one (1) year’s experience in Human Resources and leading recruitment strategies for a broad range of positions; drivers, plant personnel, corporate/office and manager/leadership.

  • Experience utilizing and maintaining Applicant Tracking Systems, Workday experience preferred.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all information and documentation.

  • Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word and Power Point.

  • Proficient in understanding and utilizing job boards and sourcing activities.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Understanding unionized and complex multi-business environments is desirable.

  • Working knowledge of Human Resources principles, concepts, and practices.

Pay: $55,000-$70,000 annually
