The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for managing the full-cycle talent acquisition process, from strategic sourcing and recruitment to onboarding and offboarding. The incumbent serves as a key point of contact for candidates and hiring managers, administers talent acquisition systems, and ensures all hiring processes are compliant with federal, state, and university policies.
Candidate & Hiring Manager Support
Assist hiring managers and support staff with the process of posting jobs within the university’s online applicant tracking system.
Process employment forms and maintain employment records for new employees. Assist candidates in navigation and completion of forms, when needed.
Manage correspondence and communication with applicants, hiring managers, and search committee members. Ensure the timely receipt of requested information, answer questions, and provide resolution to talent acquisition-related issues.
Provide guidance on employment policies and procedures to applicants, staff, and outside employment agencies.
Onboarding & Offboarding
Lead the new employee onboarding process, including planning and facilitating orientation sessions to welcome new hires to the university.
Provide guidance and support to new hires throughout the onboarding process, including communicating instructions and assigning necessary tasks.
Manage the offboarding process for departing employees by communicating necessary information and procedures.
Recruitment & Sourcing
Collaborate with advertising agency to provide data-driven recommendations to hiring managers for each search.
Establish and maintain relationships with external firms used for job placement and postings. When applicable, work with external search firms for high level position openings.
Maintain university job board or advertising source memberships.
Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives to attract qualified talent pools, building relationships with a variety of external organizations and networks.
Support University initiatives.
Compliance

Review candidate applications to confirm they meet the minimum requirements before approving requests to schedule interviews.
Initiate and manage the background check process for all final candidates in accordance with university policy and state and federal regulations. Facilitate the adverse action process as needed.
Administrate Form I-9 completion and compliance.
Serve as the administrator and subject matter expert for the university's Form I-9 and E-Verify systems. This involves managing user access, conducting regular audits, troubleshooting issues, and providing training to ensure compliance with all federal regulations.
