As Veterinary Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will focus on helping our veterinary care teams find the best talent. You will collaborate with multiple departments, and mentor other members across Petfolk in best hiring practices. You must be driven to deliver, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be dedicated to helping Petfolk scale. Additionally, you care deeply about candidates and their experience (during recruitment and employment), with a retention first hiring mindset.
The Veterinary Talent Acquisition Specialist will contribute in a very significant way to Petfolk’s rapid growth plans. Given the strategic nature of this role, the specialist must maintain a proactive mindset, a keen eye for creative execution, a proven record of working cross-functionally with dynamic teams, and strong independent project management skills. Our ideal candidate possesses a strong medical background in Veterinary Medicine with established Practice Manager experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Talent Acquisition/Recruitment: Responsible for the full lifecycle recruiting process - including reviewing applications, screening candidates, and proactive sourcing to build pipeline for future talent needs across multiple roles simultaneously. Build trusting relationships with hiring managers to assess their talent requirements and advise on approach, strategy and market nuances in order to facilitate a best-in-class hiring experience.

Culture Champion: Amplify the Petfolk culture and our mission to strengthen the human-animal bond through better pet care to inspire a diverse pool of talent. Facilitate outstanding and memorable experiences throughout the hiring process representative of our internal brand.

Talent Research: Research marketplace, creatively source, engage top talent and build a pipeline of candidates through online channels.

Employee Experience: Manage candidates throughout the hiring process (from initial contact, offer acceptance, to onboarding). Ensure all candidates have a positive experience throughout their hiring process including timely feedback, consistent communication, and interviewer preparedness.

Process-oriented: Always looking for ways to utilize technology to its fullest extent and focusing on efficiencies / areas of improvement. Maintain accurate information in the ATS (Workable).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships; an ability to identify and galvanize a complex web of relationships and dependencies to holistically solve problems and seize opportunities.

Brand Promoter: Promote employer branding initiatives (job postings on social media, hosting or participating in career events and meetups, etc), and manage long-term relationships with past applicants and potential candidates.
COMPETENCIES:
- Strong knowledge of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Operations
- Must have strong clinical experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant
- Must have established experience in Veterinary hospital operational management
- Demonstrated ability to recruit veterinary professionals and manage all parts of the full recruitment cycle or willingness to learn.
- Strong knowledge of recruiting strategies, channels, and processes within the Veterinary ecosystem or life-sciences.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- The proven ability to take initiative, think on your feet, and quickly make well-thought-out decisions.
- Experience developing and running conference booths
- Creative mindset towards recruiting strategies and events
- Must reside in EST or CST time zone
