Summary

The Talent Acquisition Partner (TAP) is a strategic recruitment professional responsible for managing full-cycle recruitment while partnering closely with hiring leaders and the broader Talent Acquisition team to deliver high-quality hiring outcomes. Based in Calgary, this 18-month contract role plays a critical role in executing HUB International’s recruitment strategy, driving a strong candidate and hiring leader experience, and ensuring all hiring activities align with enterprise standards, governance, and compliance requirements.

This role blends hands-on recruiting with consultative partnership, systems expertise, and operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Full-Cycle Recruiting & Hiring Partnership

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for assigned requisitions, including intake meetings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding support.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand business needs, role requirements, and workforce plans, providing consultative guidance on talent strategy, market insights, and hiring best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong pipelines of qualified candidates through proactive sourcing, networking, referrals, and talent community engagement.
  • Develop and execute proactive sourcing strategies to attract high-quality talent across assigned lines of business, leveraging a mix of direct sourcing, networking, referrals, talent communities, and external partnerships.
  • Build, maintain, and nurture robust candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs, with a strong focus on hard-to-fill, niche, and high-impact roles.
  • Utilize advanced sourcing techniques across platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Phenom CRM, Indeed, Handshake, and other channels to identify, engage, and convert passive and active candidates.
  • Partner with hiring leaders to forecast hiring needs and develop forward-looking talent pipelines aligned to workforce planning and business growth strategies.
  • Conduct ongoing market mapping and competitive intelligence to understand talent availability, compensation trends, and competitor hiring activity, providing strategic insights to hiring managers and TA leadership.
  • Actively promote HUB’s employer brand through targeted outreach, relationship building, and talent engagement initiatives to strengthen long-term talent communities.
  • Track and manage pipeline activity within Workday and Phenom, ensuring accurate documentation, compliance, and effective utilization of CRM tools to drive hiring outcomes.
  • Continuously evaluate sourcing effectiveness and pipeline health, adjusting strategies to improve quality of hire, time-to-fill, diversity outcomes, and candidate experience.

Candidate & Hiring Leader Experience

  • Deliver a high-touch, “white-glove” recruitment experience for candidates and hiring leaders, ensuring timely communication, professionalism, and a positive employer brand at every stage of the process.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers on interview strategies, selection decisions, compensation considerations, and offer processes.

Systems, Technology & Data Management

  • Manage recruitment activity within HUB’s HRIS (Workday) and CRM (Phenom), including requisition creation, candidate tracking, dispositioning, and reporting.
  • Leverage recruiting platforms and sourcing tools such as LinkedIn, Indeed, and other channels to attract and engage top talent.

Compliance, Governance & Operations

  • Ensure all recruitment activity is executed in alignment with HUB policies, regulatory requirements, employment standards, and internal governance frameworks.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Operations to ensure consistency, data integrity, and adherence to standardized recruitment workflows and best practices.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Track recruitment activity, pipelines, and performance metrics; provide regular updates and insights to TA leadership and hiring stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, candidate experience, and operational efficiency, contributing to enterprise-wide TA initiatives and projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a full-cycle Recruiter role
  • Must be able to work autonomously but be team-oriented, collaborative, and flexible as we shift responsibilities to best support a rapidly growing organization
  • Customer-focused with exceptional organizational skills, communication and follow-up skills, strong attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • LinkedIn, Workday and Indeed Resume experience are a plus but not required
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed for training, team meetings, etc. (less than 10%)

  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to navigate evolving priorities and contribute to process improvements
