Who are we?
For over twenty years, AR Developments (that’s us) has specialised in designing and building high quality turnkey townhouses for families and investors.
We’re a vertically integrated company significantly different from our major competitors in that we not only develop land, we also design communities, build complete townhouses and sell direct to homeowners and investors. This makes our quality control second to none and streamlines the process for our customers.

All of our townhouses are finished to a full turnkey standard with no hidden extras, ready to live in or rent from day one.
We have about 65 people on the team right now with 14 of them being in the office and the rest being on-site in the construction division.
With demand in South-East QLD increasing consistently we’ve made the decision to proactively scale the business over the coming few years which is why we’ve created this role.
What’s so special about this role?
The Talent Acquisition Lead is a newly created role, so while we’re very clear on what this new person will need to achieve, the 'how' will be largely up to you.
Unlike most of these types of roles, the CEO and MD of ARD are entrepreneurial and pragmatic, not stuck in the world of ‘best practices’.
They’re all about commercial results, but not at the expense of a strong, healthy culture.
You’ll own talent acquisition strategy and end-to-end recruitment with no HR responsibility so you can really focus on what you're best at.
While there are some basics in place, you’ll work with your manager, the Chief of Staff to develop and implement the systems and processes that will truly enable the business to scale successfully.

Who are we looking for?
A creative, commercially sharp talent acquisition leader who will own the end-to-end recruitment function.
You’ll be responsible for everything from workforce planning and sourcing strategies to building talent pipelines and designing smarter ways to attract and assess the right people.
But not in the stuffy corporate way, in a modern, agile, practical way.
You’ll collaborate closely with the Chief of Staff experimenting with new approaches to employer branding, candidate engagement, and performance enablement while focusing on filling roles that enable the development schedule to progress to plan.
The right fit: strategic thinker, practical operator, natural connector, commercially minded, and able to move fast without losing compassion.

🏆 Someone who wants to build an internal recruitment framework and the in-house capability to truly set the people and the business up for success.
What kind of background will you need?
We’ve thought hard about what we’re looking for and who the ideal candidate might be.
Unlike most job ads, we’ve dug a lot deeper than 'industry experience in a similar role'.
➡️ The #1 most important thing about you, the successful person, is going to be your POV about the role of Talent Acquisition in the business coupled with your growth mindset.
Of course technical skills will be important too, so we think your current or past positions might be one of these.
Ideally you have some experience in an SME or family-run businesses as the dynamics are very different from a VC backed start-up or a corporate.
What are the hours and where will you work?
It’s a newly created role so we’d be lying if we said we know exactly what the hours will be, but we estimate 30 hours a week with the ideal scenario being that in busy times you’d be happy to work up to 35 hours if needed.
We’re happy to negotiate with the successful candidate about the way your week is structured as long as we’re comfortable the business needs will be met.
All our people work in the office in Hemmant because of the nature of our business and the culture we’re building, this is important to us. We know it's not for everyone, but it’s not up for negotiation.
Although of course, if you need to work from home to be there for a tradesman or other similar reason, we’re supportive and will work with you to accommodate that.
There’s on-site parking and we have a very well stocked kitchen too.
