Are You a Good Fit For Us?
The Recruiting Intern supports the Talent Acquisition team in identifying, attracting, and engaging top talent for Athena. This role offers hands-on experience in the recruitment process, from posting job openings and sourcing candidates to coordinating interviews and supporting onboarding. The intern will contribute to creating a positive candidate experience while learning best recruitment practices. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist with posting job openings across various job boards, social media channels, and internal platforms.
    • Support the sourcing process by researching and identifying potential candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, and other databases.
    • Screen resumes and forward qualified candidates to recruiters or hiring managers.
    • Help coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring teams.
    • Participate in candidate communication, including sending confirmation emails and follow-ups.
    • Assist in maintaining and updating applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment spreadsheets.
    • Assist with background verification as needed.
    • Support new hire onboarding processes, including preparing offer letters and welcome materials.
    • Assist with recruitment marketing initiatives to enhance employer branding.
    • Provide other administrative support to the Talent Acquisition team as needed.

Qualifications

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
    • Strong interest in recruitment, HR, and talent management.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
    • Bilingual in Spanish preferred. 
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
    • 6 - 12 month commitment. 
Working Conditions
This position will be located at the Manhattan office at 33 West 60th Street, New York, NY 10023, Suite 600. This is a professional work environment where a computer, desk, chair, and office supplies will be provided onsite at each of our offices.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and speak on the phone or computer throughout the day, stand and sit for an extended period of time and be able to write and answer emails in addition to carrying objects no greater than 25 pounds, when needed.
