Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

The Sr. Manager, Talent Acquisition is responsible for leading and executing the enterprise-wide talent acquisition strategy across field and corporate operations. This role provides strategic direction and operational oversight for all recruiting activities, ensuring the organization attracts, selects, and retains high-quality talent aligned with business objectives. As a key HR leader, this role partners closely with senior leadership to forecast workforce needs, build talent pipelines, and implement scalable talent acquisition and retention strategies that drive business performance. The Sr. Manager is accountable for optimizing recruiting processes, leveraging data and technology, and strengthening the employer brand to position the organization as an employer of choice.

This role also plays a critical leadership role in shaping and executing retention strategies through data-driven insights, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and lead the enterprise talent acquisition strategy for US and Canada to support both short- and long-term workforce planning needs, including forecasting for high-volume, seasonal, hourly and professional hiring.  Collaborate with senior leaders to understand business strategy, workforce challenges, and talent gaps.
  • Partner with senior and operational leaders to align talent acquisition strategies with business priorities, seasonal demands, and growth initiatives.  Collaborate with senior leaders to understand business strategy, workforce challenges, and talent gaps.
  • Define, track, and report on key recruiting metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, quality of hire, cost per hire, source effectiveness, ROI on advertising spend, ROI on external recruiting platform spending). Develop and deliver regular recruiting scorecards and insights to senior leadership to inform decision-making.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing recruiting organization, including internal recruiters, external partners, and specialized resources.  Establish clear performance expectations, coaching, and development plans to build capability and bench strength within the recruiting team.
  • Oversee recruiting operations, including Workday ATS and career site optimization, workflow design, and process standardization to improve efficiency and candidate experience.
  • Build and sustain proactive talent pipelines and sourcing strategies to ensure readiness for critical roles.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies such as AI, to enhance recruiting effectiveness and scalability.
  • Partner with marketing to develop and execute a compelling employer branding strategy that enhances the organization’s reputation and attracts top talent.
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality candidate experience across all touchpoints.
  • Partner with HR, Operations, and Finance to define and implement enterprise retention strategies aligned with business goals.  Leverage data from engagement surveys, exit interviews, and employee feedback to inform retention strategies and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Design and support initiatives such as onboarding enhancements, compensation competitiveness, and targeted retention programs (e.g., stay bonuses, career pathing).
  • Oversee recruiting budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and strong return on investment.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with external vendors, including background check, staffing agencies and technology providers. Negotiate contracts and ensure vendor performance aligns with business expectations.
  • Maintain consistent compliance and equitable hiring practices in both the US and Canada as well as documentation standards across the organization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required.
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience managing a team of recruiters in a high volume hourly recruiting environment
  • Minimum 7 years of experience with an applicant tracking software system, social media recruiting, and establishing/monitoring recruiting scorecards
  • Minimum 5 years of retention strategy development
  • Experience with Workday ATS preferred
  • Intermediate expertise with the MS Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal/communication (oral and written) skills
  • Ability to work independently to achieve goals and targets
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team and department goals
  • SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty or SHRM SCP

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITY

This position directly impacts the financial operations of the company through proper staffing. Access to confidential reports and information.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position manages a team of internal recruiters as well as external/outsourced recruiting resources.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position generally works in an office environment and uses typical office equipment

including phones, computers, and printers. Work is conducted in a fast-paced, rapidly changing

environment. The ability to manage stress, build professional and collaborative relationships, and

reason through complex business situations is essential. This position requires occasional travel; a valid drivers license and acceptable MVR is required.
