About the Humans Resources Unit:
Seattle Parks and Recreation's Human Resources Unit supports the recruitment, retention, development, and engagement of our almost 2000 employees. Centered in equity, we work with our internal and external customers to gain employment while providing ongoing opportunities to contribute to our organization’s mission, vision, and values.

About the position:

Seattle Parks and Recreation Human Resources (SPR HR) is seeking an equity focused, human-centered, recruitment professional to join our team and support one of the 5 Department Divisions to meet their ongoing recruitment and hiring needs. This position will perform full-cycle recruitment, personnel record management, and work collaboratively to design and implement an effective and equitable recruiting strategy.

Job Responsibilities


  • Apply an equity lens to all decisions and consistently work to guide the organization in equity principles 
  • Collaborate with the TA team to develop an equity recruitment plan for the department 
  • Provide a high level of customer service and engagement for internal and external customers 
  • Deliver a full cycle talent acquisition (TA) and retention experience as a senior level contributor  
  • Support Assistant TA Specialists with more complex hiring issues 
  • Act as a main point of contact for HR services and consultation for employees, front-line supervisors and managers 
  • Partner with leadership our HR teams to respond to complex inquiries; recommend solutions based on department practice, policies and procedures 
  • Initiate and drive continuous process improvement, focusing on aligning practices and ensure consistency and efficiency 
  • Actively participate and promote SPR at job fairs, career workshops and community outreach events  
  • Work with division subject matter experts and Safety Office to create and validate all working tests and interview questions
  • Analyze, and report recruitment data to guide and inform decision making  
  • Work with the Training and Development Team to recommend and/or deliver resume writing, interview skills or other training
  • Utilize social media recruiting efforts through platforms such as LinkedIn, CareerBuilder and Glassdoor to further SPR's employment brand  
  • Promote an excellent candidate experience including candidate notification, offer letters, background checks and/or physicals, onboarding, and assist with start date coordination  
  • Interpret and apply a broad range of employment laws, personnel rules, and bargaining agreements 
  • Maintain the integrity of all HR issues, data and employee information in a confidential manner   
  • Track and monitor all hiring transactions in Neogov, HRIS and ACCESS   
  • Support the onboarding of new employees, develop, and maintain personnel files, enter HRIS records, explain benefits and other aspects of city employment
  • Administer Youth Employment and College Intern hiring and orientation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:  

A baccalaureate degree in social sciences, human resource management, business administration or related field and two years of responsible professional personnel administration experience in the public sector is required (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class)

Successful candidates will demonstrate:
 

  • Experience providing full-cycle recruitment
  • Experience performing HR functions for internship and youth employment programs
  • Experience with Neogov or similar ATS system
  • Experience with Workday or similar HRIS system
  • SHRM and/or PHR Certification
  • A passion for people
  • Identify with the SPR core mission and values
  • Understands anti-racist principals and working towards racial equity in practice; especially as it relates to employment access and recruitment
  • Are a leader and contributor looking for opportunities to influence the future of the SPR workforce

The full salary range for this position is $45.74 - $53.27 per hour, this is a 1.0 FTE (40 hrs/week) position.
