The Role

Reporting to the Director, HR, the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition provides leadership to the organization’s strategy, team development and execution of the talent acquisition plan.  The focus will be on strategic workforce planning, employment brand development and analytics with an eye to continuous improvement that supports Vantage’s growth path.  The role will work closely with the Director, HR and hiring managers to develop and implement programs that attract and retain top talent, while reviewing and updating or optimizing existing systems. 

 

This position requires an independent self-starter who is comfortable working in a dynamic, changing environment as part of a high-performing team.

Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition

  • Develop and implement comprehensive and creative talent acquisition strategies, long-range workforce planning, and recruitment plans.
  • Lead, coach, and develop applicable stakeholders, including hiring managers, to achieve goals, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
  • Advise and collaborate with senior leadership and hiring managers on staffing needs, market trends, and candidate value propositions.
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment, from sourcing to onboarding, while continuously improving the candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Align regional processes and global processes, drive best practice standardization, promote accountability of metrics, and ensure recruitment goals are met.
  • Build strong employer brand presence, develop sourcing strategies, and manage external recruitment partners/agencies.
  • Develop processes to creatively source the talent Vantage will need to continue it’s growth path, including talent that might be outside of North America
  • Work with the Total Rewards team on any immigration issues that might arise during recruitment efforts

Data Analytics

  • Manage Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), leverage data analytics (time-to-fill, source of hire, quality of hire) to optimize efforts, and manage recruitment tech vendors.
  • Optimizing technology to support talent acquisition efforts.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable employment laws, manage budgets, and provide reporting on metrics.

Primary Qualifications

Ideally, you hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related field. A Master’s of Business Administration considered an asset.

 

You have 8 - 10 years of progressive experience working in Human Resources roles.  In addition, the following are preferred qualifications:  

  • Knowledge of employment / labour laws and regulations and their application in both Canada and the US
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, while delivering on time without compromising quality
  • Comfortable with designing and delivering clear, practical training for employees and leaders
  • Familiarity with performance review cycles, goal setting models, feedback frameworks, and tools for aligning individual objectives to business outcomes.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands in dynamic environments
  • Builds trust with leaders and employees, consults on people matters, and influences decisions without direct authority
  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate uncertainty
  • Clear oral and written communication; adapts messages to diverse audiences; prepares reports, presentations, and training materials.
  • Awareness of evolving expectations, trends, and technologies in HR
  • Proficient in office programs (e.g., Microsoft Office products) and capable of learning key HRIS / role specific applications
  • Comfortable using HRIS and ATS platforms, such as ADP and iCIMS, with the ability to learn new platforms and tools seamlessly.
