Job Overview
Under general direction of the Staffing Manager, performs responsible professional-level work in relation to the Board's recruitment, applicant processing and testing of professional and non-professional staff. Develops and implements job-specific recruitment strategies for all levels of Board vacancies.
What you will be doing:
Meets with hiring officials to assist in developing “best qualified” criteria based on Board needs and department specifications.
Develops and implements job-specific recruitment strategies aligned with Board business goals and strategies.
Screens applications and resumes; may conduct screening interviews; refers best-suited applicants for department interviews.
Verifies and processes documentation associated with the selection process.
Processes applicant and employee data using computerized systems.
Ensures that staffing and selection practices are in compliance with federal and state laws, regulations and guidelines.
Monitors affirmative action goals, utilization, and diversity objectives to ensure that strategies are deployed to meet and or exceed the Board’s goals in these areas.
Monitors activities of service providers that are used in the recruitment, selection and testing of prospective Board employees.
Oversees all background checking processes for applicants.
Conducts research of new and pending legislation and laws affecting Board recruiting and selection programs.
Develops and maintains appropriate and required records; analyzes hiring and selection trends to respond to Board requests and to develop reports.
May develop testing and assessment tools.
Develops the annual recruitment plan consistent with the Board’s diversity objectives.
Attends job fairs.
Visits with community-based agencies and organizations frequently in order to maintain a positive working relationship with the Board and community leaders.
What you need:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent with significant coursework in human resources, business or public administration or a related field.
Two (2) or more years of related professional-level staffing and recruitment experience.
Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the above on a year-for-year basis.
What we desire:
Two (2) or more years' experience in test and selection tool development.
PHR Certification.
