Job Overview

As a Talent Acquisition Screening Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting hiring for our Bloomingdale’s brand by managing candidates through early stages of the hiring process in a fast-paced, centralized environment. In this role, you will evaluate talent with a high degree of discernment and attention to detail, ensuring candidates are aligned to elevated, high-touch, and luxury service expectations required for Bloomingdale’s roles. Working closely with Talent Acquisition leaders, you will help ensure candidates are assessed consistently and advanced based on clear qualifications, sound judgment, and alignment to the Bloomingdale’s brand standards.

Working closely with Talent Acquisition leaders and team members, you will help ensure candidates are efficiently evaluated and progressed through the hiring journey with accuracy, care, and professionalism.

• Review and screen candidate applications against role requirements and luxury-service aligned competencies
• Apply sound judgment and discernment to determine candidate readiness for next steps
• Maintain organized and accurate workflows within the Applicant Tracking System
• Support a hiring process that prioritizes quality, brand alignment, and long-term fit over speed alone.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage candidates and team members clearly and professionally. 
• A candidate-centered mindset with a passion for delivering a positive experience through respectful, client-driven interactions. 
• Ability to assess candidate qualifications and make objective recommendations during the screening process. 
• Ability to follow structured guidelines while recognizing indicators of high-touch service capability and professionalism
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage candidate pipelines and follow-up tasks in a fast-paced environment 
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy while following hiring guidelines and processes. 
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to meet hiring goals. 
• Comfort using Applicant Tracking Systems, interview platforms, and Microsoft Office applications. 
• Adaptability and the ability to adjust to shifting priorities during peak hiring periods. 
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. 

Nice to Have 

• Previous experience in recruiting, screening, or customer service for luxury, retail, or service-oriented environments
• Familiarity with high-volume or centralized screening models

Essential Physical Requirements You Will Perform

• This position requires talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
• Standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 25lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders, reaching, including above eye level.
• Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions.
