In this role, you’ll drive recruitment efforts for our Medical Surgical business across the U.S., helping attract top talent to support our Robotics mission of transforming healthcare. Talent Acquisition is a partner to the business, collaborating with hiring leaders through every part of the talent selection process, a true Talent Advisor. You will fill requisitions while building diverse, robust pipelines of qualified candidates from internal, external, and referral sources. This is an onsite role and will work from one of the following Medtronic office locations – Billerica, MA, Boston, MA, New Haven, CT or Lafayette, CO.

As a Principal Talent Acquisition Specialist, your responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborating with hiring managers to define job requirements, competencies, and salary recommendations while negotiating offers with candidates.
  • Evaluating candidates’ qualifications, including education, experience, skills, knowledge and motivational fit, to ensure the best match for each role.
  • Sourcing top talent through various channels, including social media, career fairs, and contractor networks, to maintain a steady flow of qualified candidates.
  • Conducting candidate screens and interviews to identify exceptional talent.
  • Managing the applicant tracking system and generating/using reports and metrics to guide decision-making.
  • Providing outstanding candidate care throughout the recruitment process.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing creative solutions.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition, or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition.

Nice to Have

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current experience recruiting at Medtronic, preferably within the Medical Surgical portfolio.
  • Previous experience recruiting for Robotics commercial and non-commercial roles with an expertise sourcing Engineering talent.
  • Demonstrated ability consistently serving as a strategic talent advisor, with previous experience providing actionable insights and recommendations to hiring managers to enhance the hiring process.
  • Proven ability to stay highly organized and prioritize effectively while managing a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment, ensuring seamless coordination and attention to detail – helping MDT compete to win top talent.
  • Knowledge of employment regulations, including EEO, AAP, and OFCCP compliance.
  • Proficiency with a variety of talent acquisition systems such as Workday Recruit and LinkedIn.
  • HR/TA certifications.
  • Expertise in inclusive sourcing practices using a variety of recruitment channels.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$113,600.00 - $170,400.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
