Position Overview:

We are seeking a strategic, innovative, and execution-driven Manager, Talent Acquisition to help us fulfill our mission of creating positive changes in the veterinary profession to improve the lives of pets and people. This role combines accountability for full-cycle recruiting, workforce planning, recruiting strategy development, process improvement, and delivering high-touch candidate experience with strategic workforce planning, team leadership, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for transforming talent acquisition practices while attracting and retaining exceptional veterinary professionals, including veterinarians, technicians, and support staff, to support our mission-driven organization, while driving measurable impact across the organization

Key Responsibilities:

Full-Cycle Recruiting:

  • Actively manage a requisition load and maintain responsibility for a personal hiring goal.
  • Manage the entire recruitment lifecycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, offer negotiation, and the transition to onboarding.
  • Deliver a high-touch approach to candidate interactions, ensuring timely, transparent, and personalized communication at every stage.
  • Proactively identify and engage passive candidates, building lasting relationships that enhance the talent pipeline.
  • Develop and implement efficient yet candidate-focused recruitment workflows that ensure a positive experience.
  • Partner with Marketing and Operations to execute employer branding and recruitment marketing campaigns across social media, and job boards.

Workforce Planning:

  • Collaborate with veterinary clinic managers and leadership to forecast staffing needs and develop strategic hiring plans.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Operations to align hiring plans with clinic needs, retention goals, and headcount forecasts.
  • Use workforce analytics to identify gaps and design proactive strategies to address them.
  • Continuously improve workforce planning processes to ensure alignment with evolving business goals and industry demands.

Recruiting Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Design innovative recruiting strategies tailored to the unique challenges of the veterinary industry.
  • Focus on improving sourcing methods, including partnerships with student programs, associations, and digital platforms.
  • Regularly evaluate recruiting strategies, integrating feedback and data insights to drive continuous improvement.
  • Leverage data to work with VP, of Talent Acquisition in developing and executing a scalable talent acquisition strategy aligned with VetEvolve’s mission and growth objective.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for high-impact roles, including veterinarians, technicians, support staff, and corporate leaders.
  • Design innovative sourcing strategies tailored to the veterinary industry and corporate functions.
  • Build and maintain strong pipelines through partnerships with veterinary schools, associations, and professional networks.
  • Optimize recruitment workflows to balance efficiency with a high-touch candidate experience.

High-Touch Candidate Experience:

  • Prioritize a high-touch, semi-automated approach to all candidate interactions, emphasizing personalized and timely communication throughout the recruitment process.
  • Create tailored communication plans for candidates at various stages, ensuring clarity, empathy, and engagement.
  • Train hiring managers on how to deliver an exceptional candidate experience, including effective communication practices.
  • Continuously gather and act on candidate feedback to enhance the overall experience.

Stakeholder Partnership:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and clinic leaders, providing insights on market trends, candidate availability, and recruitment best practices.
  • Foster strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including veterinary schools, associations, and external recruiters.
  • Identify and implement improvements in stakeholder collaboration to drive alignment and efficiency.
  • Ensure recruitment strategy aligns with broader Talent Acquisition and HR strategy.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing talent acquisition team.
  • Set clear goals and KPIs to drive accountability and performance.
  • Foster a collaborative, data-driven, and candidate-centric team culture.
  • Lead change adoption within the TA team by rolling out new recruiting tools, processes, and candidate engagement strategies.
  1. Metrics, Reporting, and Process Improvement:
  • Monitor pipeline health, source effectiveness, and cost-per-hire metrics to identify trends and recommend data-driven improvements. Use data-driven insights to identify process inefficiencies and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Implement process enhancements that streamline workflows while maintaining a high level of candidate engagement.
  • Present regular performance reports and actionable recommendations to key business partners and leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in talent acquisition, with demonstrated expertise in full-cycle recruiting and delivering high-touch candidate experiences.
  • Proven success recruiting for clinical roles with strong understanding of veterinary industry dynamics and talent challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience managing
  • Proven ability to implement and optimize recruiting workflows and communication strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of workforce planning and recruiting strategies.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS, and other recruitment technologies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing difficult-to-fill roles with few applicants
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and providing input on recruiting budget decisions.
  • Proven ability to build and execute employer branding and recruitment marketing initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with veterinary industry challenges, including recruiting veterinarians, technicians, and support staff.
  • Established relationships with veterinary schools, associations, and professional networks.
  • Certification in HR or Talent Acquisition (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, AIRS).
  • Experience with DEI initiatives and strategies for inclusive hiring in the veterinary field.
  • Experience working at a staffing agency
