At a Glance!  By leading full-time recruitments and supporting supervisors with part-time hiring, the HR Generalist helps LCC attract and retain top talent to serve our students. This unique role balances people-oriented collaboration with HR administrative functions and provides the opportunity to work with a variety of technology and HR systems.

About the team! The HR Generalist is a vital member of LCC’s small, innovative, collaborative, and hard-working HR team that provides exceptional customer service, support, resources, recruitment, and more for our faculty and staff. Our HR team holds high standards of respect and integrity and uses a human-centered approach in everything that we do. This position is 40 hours per week and is eligible for overtime under FLSA. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. The HR Generalist has the flexibility to work remotely up to 50% of the workweek if desired. This position reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources. We typically hire in the lower to middle range of the salary range. Offers are made based on the applicant’s qualifications relative to the job, internal pay equity, and any other relevant factors.

Example of Duties & Responsibilities

What you'll be doing:

  • Talent Acquisition: Lead the full recruitment lifecycle for full-time and part-time positions. Develop job postings in NEOED, advise search committees and supervisors on fair and equitable recruitment practices, manage applicant communications, prepare offer letters, market job openings, attend career fairs, and partner with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to continue to enhance our recruitment process and provide new tools and training for supervisors and committee members. 
  • Head Start Collaboration: Build strong relationships with our Head Start department to be a trusted resource and partner alongside them to develop, implement, and streamline processes and procedures between HR and their team. 
  • HR Operations & Systems: Maintain position data in NEOED (applicant tracking system) and ctcLink PeopleSoft (HRMS). Assist with the continuous improvement and updates to the NEOED Onboard (onboarding platform for new hires). Maintain and enhance NEOED Attract, which houses our career pages.  
  • Campus Support: Provide high-quality, tailored customer service to our campus community. Respond to inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and public records requests. Serve on the Red Devil Wellbeing team and collaborate with the HR team on campus events and awards. 
  • Projects & Administrative Support: Provide administrative support for labor relations, personnel changes, and HR processes. Partner with the HR team on annual and special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in business, HR, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for degree
  • Previous experience in a professional office setting or similar environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Human Resources
  • Experience in recruitment or working with an applicant tracking system
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to HR
  • Advanced experience Excel, Google Sheets, or similar program
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or similar system
