About the role
Reporting to the VP of People, the Director of Talent Acquisition will lead and oversee all aspects of recruitment for our growing organization. In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy that aligns with our business goals. You will manage a team of TA Partners and Coordinators, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and drive Fortis’ efforts to attract, hire, and retain top-tier talent in the games industry globally. Your leadership will be critical in scaling our workforce and building a diverse, high-performing team to support our mission to build “games where you belong”.

What you’ll achieve
Talent Acquisition Strategy & Execution
- Lead the team to reliably deliver against the hiring plan by implementing scalable best practices that ensure recruitment efforts are aligned to business priorities and teams have the Fortizens they need to execute on their roadmaps.
- Take accountability for delivering a comprehensive strategy that meets both short-term and long-term hiring goals; work to proactively understand and engage a complex global talent market, allocating resources to drive desired outcomes.
- Leverage data to measure the success of talent acquisition strategies, identifying opportunities to iterate on and optimize workflows.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Strategic Advisory
- Partner closely with executive leadership, department heads, and hiring managers to understand business needs, design appropriate recruitment strategies, and hire accordingly..
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor, providing data-informed recruitment insights to stakeholders to ensure high-quality hiring decisions.
- Guide leaders and hiring managers in designing effective and efficient assessment processes, with structured and competency-based frameworks designed to identify top talent meeting our quality bar for each craft.
Candidate Attraction & Engagement
- Establish Fortis as an employer-of-choice in the industry by building a strong employer brand, creating compelling narratives about the company’s culture, values, and mission to engage candidates.
- Promote a best-in-class candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle; candidates should feel positively about their experience with Fortis regardless of whether they get the job.
- Closely monitor talent markets and design comprehensive and creative strategies to identify, attract, and engage top caliber game industry talent across the globe.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, manage, and mentor a highly effective and engaged team who push themselves and one another to their fullest potential.
- Foster a high-performance culture within the TA team through coaching, training, and ongoing timely feedback loops; hold the team accountable to meeting or exceeding the TA quality bar
- Empower TA Partners by encouraging operational excellence; support team efficiency through tools and technologies, analytics, strong processes and best practices
What you’ll need to be successful
Desired Qualifications
- Deep talent acquisition experience in global and scaling organizations, with 3+ years in a leadership or senior management role.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and executing talent acquisition strategies at scale, with an emphasis on hiring for diverse teams and complex technical roles.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with, influence, and coach executives and leaders on Talent Acquisition strategy and best practices.
- Innovation mindset: ability to design, build and pilot initiatives that drive desired outcomes as well as experience scaling successful programs for hiring diverse, global teams
- Deep understanding of market dynamics, including industry workforce trends, regulatory requirements (GDPR, CCPA, etc), compensation trends, and more.
- Enthusiasm for coaching, mentoring, and elevating the people around you to do their best work; the ability to lead and motivate a team while managing multiple competing priorities.
- Strong operational leadership, modeling project management best practices and overseeing data infrastructure and integrity to unlock key accountability metrics
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the video game, entertainment, or tech industry, with a focus on recruiting for creative, technical, and leadership roles.
- Familiarity with platforms in our current tech stack, including Workday, Greenhouse, and Gem.
- Knowledge of recruitment automation tools (including AI) in talent acquisition, and the evolving regulatory landscape associated with their use.
