Meet Instinct 👋

Instinct Science is an animal health software company that helps the world’s leading veterinary practices enhance patient care, improve staff efficiency, and minimize burnout. Our easy-to-use platform acts as the nerve center for veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and support staff alike, fostering seamless collaboration across teams. With our January 2024 acquisition of VetMedux, a trusted education and point-of-care information company for veterinarians, Instinct has strengthened our commitment to delivering the mission-critical tools veterinary practices need to care for their patients at the highest level and with the best outcomes!

We’re fueled by compassion! Our team, our customers, and their patients and animal owners matter immensely to us. We put the Customer First; Act with Grace, Not Teeth; Do the Right Things for the Right Reasons; and know that Excellence is in our DNA.

If these values speak to you, you might be a good fit for our Director of Talent Acquisition role.

What You’ll Do 🐱‍💻

  • Create and maintain a qualified pipeline of high-potential candidates for key positions with a focus on talent density and retention
  • Own and optimize our applicant tracking system, ensuring workflows are complete, templates are clean, and candidates are well organized
  • Perform pre-screening calls to analyze applicants’ abilities
  • Collaborate with functional leaders, finance and people operations to forecast hiring needs and ensure alignment with company goals
  • Craft and send personalized recruiting emails with current job openings to passive candidates
  • Draft job posts and compose offer letters
  • Provide weekly data analysis of recruiting/hiring data to the People Ops and Executive teams
  • Partner with other members of People Ops team to drive initiatives
  • Promote Instinct’s reputation as a Great Place to Work

  • Must Haves:
    • 7+ years of recruiting experience is preferred, preferably in a SaaS, start-up environment with an emphasis on technical and product recruiting
    • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases, especially JazzHR and LinkedIn
    • Solid knowledge of sourcing techniques (e.g. social media recruiting)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proven track records of driving hiring/recruiting related initiatives
    • Proactive to a fault
    • Incredibly comfortable with ambiguity, changing priorities, and understanding the ebbs and flows of hiring needs
  • Nice-to-Haves:
    • Experience working within other People Ops fields outside of recruiting, especially in training and coaching, career development, or people analytics
